The Drive from Bonita Springs to Naples: A Guide to Travel Times
Heading out from Bonita Springs down to Naples, you've got a few different options. Depending on where you want to end up in Naples, different routes might make more sense. Here, we'll break down the different ways to get there and give you an idea of how long it'll take you.
Route 41, The Straight Shot
If you're headed to the heart of Naples, taking Route 41 is likely your best bet. It's a straight shot down the Tamiami Trail, and depending on traffic, should take you about 20 to 30 minutes. This route also passes by some great spots like the Naples Zoo and the Naples Botanical Gardens. With the Gulf on one side and the Everglades on the other, the drive is a scenic one, with plenty of opportunities to soak up the natural beauty of Southwest Florida.
Backroads and Bike Trails
If you're up for a more leisurely drive, taking some of the backroads and bike trails can be a fun option. While it will take you longer to get there than the Route 41 drive, you'll get to experience a different side of the area with less traffic and a more laidback pace. You could take Old 41 through Estero and then head west on one of the bike trails, like the Gordon River Greenway. Along the way, be sure to check out Koreshan State Park, a unique place with a history as fascinating as its surroundings.
The I-75 Route
If you're headed up to north Naples, taking I-75 might be your best bet. While it'll take a bit longer than the Route 41 drive, you'll avoid much of the congestion that can sometimes be an issue on the Tamiami Trail. Expect it to take you around 30 to 40 minutes, depending on traffic. Along the way, consider stopping off at the Miromar Outlets for some shopping or head to the popular Mercato area for dinner or drinks.
Regardless of which route you take, the drive from Bonita Springs to Naples is a scenic one that you won't want to rush. Take your time and enjoy all the area has to offer.
