Route 1: I-95
If you choose to take the quickest route, you'll be taking I-95 South for nearly an hour. The drive starts on the outskirts of Brunswick, and you'll be taking exit 29. Once on the interstate, you'll pass through McIntosh County, and then pass into Liberty County.
After driving for approximately 35 miles, you'll be entering Bryan county which is the halfway point. After that, you'll continue driving for almost 22 more miles before finally exiting at exit 76 following which, you'll turn right onto US-280 West and finally towards Baxley.

We highly recommend stopping by the Lavender Garden at Richland Farms, which is a beautiful garden filled with stunning blooms and colors. It's a great stop for anyone who needs to stretch their legs or catch a breath of fresh air.
Route 2: US-17
The second popular route is US-17 S, which is a bit longer than the interstate route but has its charm. You'll need to exit Brunswick on Canal Road and cross the waterway before joining US-17. This long, scenic drive takes you through the historic section of Brunswick and will eventually join I-95.
Once over the waterway, you'll enter Glynn County and pass through Brunswick. After 16 miles of driving through the countryside, you'll enter into McIntosh County. It’s also the first place you can head towards Baxley, which will take you through Eulonia to exit 58. Once you exit, all you need to do is take a left on US-280 W, and you'll be on your way towards Baxley!
On this route, you may want to stop by the Altamaha River, where you can take a tour, fish, or simply enjoy the view. Entrance is free, and it's a great place to take a break and get back on the road.

Route 3: Coastal Highway 99

Driving for approximately 37 miles, you'll know you're getting closer to Baxley when you reach the Highway 341 Junction. At the junction, continue straight for approximately 4 miles before finally turning left onto Golden Isles Parkway. Follow this road until you get to the intersection of US- 341/US- 23, turn right, and continue onto S Main Street. Finally, turn left onto N. Main Street, and you'll be in downtown Baxley.
You can stop by the Golden Isles Parkway Scenic Byway, which covers nearly 170 miles and is a beautiful drive for anyone looking for picturesque views of the countryside, farmlands and local beaches.

Route 4: Ocean Highway/ State Route 57
If you're hoping for a beautiful, coastal drive that’s also a bit scenic, try driving on Ocean Highway or State Route 57. The drive starts towards the outskirts of Brunswick, Georgia. You'll take ALT US-17 S and eventually take a right onto GA-99 S.
After nearly 19 miles of driving, you'll enter into the McIntosh County and continue driving for approximately 28 miles before finally entering Appling County.
Keep in mind that there are several points of interest along the way, including the Sapelo Island National Estuarine Research Reserve, where you can learn about the bio and ecosystem of the region.
