Road Trip from Buffalo to Orchard Park: Which Route Should You Take?

Looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of Buffalo for a weekend? A quick road trip to the Town of Orchard Park might be just what you need. With several routes to choose from, you can explore scenic views and charming towns along the way. Here are some of the options available to you.

Route 1: Taking the I-90 E

If you're in a hurry, taking the I-90 E is your best bet. It's the shortest route and will take around 20 minutes with normal traffic. From downtown Buffalo, take the I-90 E towards Albany and get off at the NY-179 W exit in Orchard Park. This is the most direct route to get to your destination quickly.

Route 2: Through Buffalo and East Aurora

If you have more time to spare, take a more scenic route that goes through Buffalo and East Aurora. This will take you through charming neighborhoods and cozy little towns.

Start by heading south on Elmwood Ave and take the NY-354 E exit towards East Aurora. This will take you through Chestnut Ridge Park, where you can take a break and go for a hike on the trails. Then continue on to East Aurora, where you can stop by Vidler's 5 & 10, a popular novelty store that's been around for over 80 years. This route will take you around 40 minutes without traffic.

For a more peaceful drive, take the scenic Lake Shore Road along the edge of Lake Erie. This will give you some breathtaking views of the water and the forests. From Buffalo, head south on Route 5 and turn onto Lake Shore Road when you reach Hamburg. Continue driving on this road until you reach Orchard Park. This route takes around 35 minutes but can be longer if you stop by some of the parks and beaches along the way.
