Indiana Road Trip: The Best Ways to Get from Carmel to Plainfield

Route 3: The Historic Route (US-36 and US-40)

For history buffs, taking US-36 and US-40 is a great way to see some of the region's historic sites. This includes passing through the town of Danville, which is home to the Hendricks County Museum and the Royal Theater. As you continue on towards Plainfield, you'll see more landmarks, such as the 1903 Gothic Revival-style Plainfield Friends Meetinghouse. Once you arrive in Plainfield, check out some of the area's local restaurants and breweries, such as Black Swan Brewpub or the Chateau Thomas Winery.
